Gay marriage vs. Reproduction
by Richard C. August
In light of the recent issues concerning the States of California and Massachusetts legally recognizing homosexual marriage, here's a good idea.
How about we give homosexuals their own State in the USA, and allow them to marry, provided they do not repopulate the State by recruitment, or artificial insemination, or adoption of children? They must repopulate their own State only by means of sex with their same gender spouses. Let's see how long it takes before the gays finally realize that it still takes one man's sperm to fertilize one woman's egg to produce at least one child. I'd give the better part of two generations before most of the gays there would die with no replacements, and the remaining rest of them would realize that straight sex leads to reproduction, period, even if the act is "begrudging." At least that would mean that moral, upstanding, concerned persons would not have to exact revenge with Bibles, bombs, bricks, or bullets. The gays and lesbians would do that to themselves, with the exceptions of those who straighten up and fly right.
But why would any self-respecting gay man want to put his precious manly fluids into some woman, anyway? And why would some self-respecting lesbian want some funky man-goo in her pristine pubic region?
In that case, why would God Almighty, our loving and holy CREATOR, call on us to BE FRUITFUL AND MULTIPLY, and then turn around and arbitrarily manufacture gays and lesbians as a means of population control, especially when HE told us to fill the Earth and subdue it in the Book of Genesis??
Dear readers, homosexuality, transgenderedness, transsexuality, and bisexuality are all L-I-E-S. They are LIES!! Leviticus chapter 18, in the Holy Bible, calls homosexuality -- lying with man as with woman -- an ABOMINATION. The same Bible reflects in Romans chapter 1 that homosexuality of both genders is a selfish, self-serving denial of God and His Word, and that those who practice it not only know that they are committing sins worthy of death, but they also receive that same punishment in their own bodies, not only in the forms of AIDS and other STDs/STIs, but with failure to reproduce a newer generation of persons.
Homosexuality, bisexuality, transgenderedness, transsexuality, bestiality, pornography, adultery, fornication, bigamy, and polygamy ALL STEM FROM THE SAME SATANIC SOURCE AND ALL END UP WITH THE SAME SATANIC RESULTS. The wages of sin is death, but the GIFT (unwarranted, undeserved present given out of unconditional love) of God is ETERNAL LIFE.
"Wait a second, August," you might say. "Aren't you starting to sound like that 'God hates BLEEP' crowd?" First of all, the Westboro Baptist Church are totally unrepresentative of the Christian faith. If God hates BLEEP, then He would hate straights too, for all have sinned and come far short of God's glory. We're all in that same boat. Their "pastor" isn't even properly ordained, but was a seminary dropout. All they are is a hate group who spew their hatred and anger in the Name of God against everybody but the Westboro Baptist Church. They offer absolutely NO redemption, NO healing, NO help out of sexual sin, period.
Jesus Christ is the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE, and no person at all can come to God the Father except through HIM. St. John 14:6. HE makes absolutely no bones about His Person and Station in the Universe. He is the Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace, the Rose of Sharon, the Redeemer of humankind on the CROSS. His perfect atonement for our sins provides the sole means of spiritual and physical and mental and emotional healing we all need. Sure, we have to work through it, and we go under the Cross because of it, but when Christ Jesus heals us, it's from the inside out, and it's for real, and it's permanent for eternity. He will cast our sins as far away as the east is from the west. There won't even be a scrap of carbon paper or a bit of data on that hard drive called your life once Christ removes it.
Dear readers, any kind of sexual sin is a choice you make. You make your bed, and you have to lie in it. If that bed is pure and clean, and only involved in marital relationships between ONE man and ONE woman, it's clean. Involve anybody else in any other manner, and it's your mess. Sometimes, those messes don't get cleaned up so easily. The diseases contracted thereby alone are mostly incurable, but are made more tolerant through medications taken for the rest of one's life.
I am proud to say that though I have been divorced since 1997, I was married to only ONE woman and have not had extramarital pubic-to-pubic sex with another person. Yes, I have played around, and fondled, and been fondled, but thank God, JESUS CHRIST has released me from that. I am also a recovering pornography addict, but again, that is an addict in recovery. Face it, pornography is a huge lie, too. Christ Jesus relieves addictions, and makes them so that they hold no more pleasure for us, but only pain and suffering compared to His grace.
Anyone, man or woman, who commits sexual sin sins against his or her own body, PERIOD. The sexually transmitted diseases so rampant today should be enough to scare anyone back to morality and monogamous marital sex, but unfortunately, so many persons worship themselves and their sex organs as their gods that they are too far given to sexual pleasure and are too far gone. Until they hit solid steel rock bottom, they will not recover. Christ offers them the means of recovery while they are yet alive, but once they are dead, it's over.
The road to Hell for eternity is paved with pleasure and an easy life. The road to Heaven is strait, and narrow, twisty and rocky, hilly and arduous, and few there are who find it, but those who find it through JESUS CHRIST reap rich rewards in Heaven and sometimes on Earth as a result. Living a life of real faith in Jesus Christ totally flies in the face of living the way of the world, but as you walk OUT of the world, you really begin to see the fallen nature of humankind, as one walks in the Baptised nature of the Christian believer.
It is my hope that as you read this, if you are a homosexual, or are practicing any kind of sexual sin, that is, outside of the marital bed between ONE man and ONE woman, that you come to know Jesus Christ as God, Lord, Savior, and Redeemer before you die. If you are not following this kind of sin, then please do not go the way of the Westboro Baptist Church and scream and yell and rant your hatred, because we are sinners, too, though in Jesus Christ we are redeemed by grace through faith.
Meanwhile, let those who are openly gay and lesbian practice whatever they will, and let other sexual sinners debauch themselves, for until they come to Jesus Christ and HE washes their sins away, they will destroy themselves; we do not need bullets or bricks or bombs or poison or other lethal means to do that.
Find a good Christian church whose pastor and leaders and laity believe, teach, and confess that the Holy Bible is the authoritative Word of God, Holy and without error at least in its original manuscripts. Find a good translation of the Holy Bible for you and read it every day. Learn from it. Pray and believe.
LOVE in Jesus Christ,
Richard C. August

VOLUME XXXIV No. 15 Narrowsburg, NY April 10 - April 16, 2008
THE RIVER REPORTER
Western PA landowners regret deep gas wells deals Gasses bubbling out of the ground and into drinking wells and ponds By TOM KANE WASHINGTON COUNTY, PA - At first, farmer Ron Gulla and horse farm owner Joyce Mitchell were excited about the prospect of making money from gas drilling. Now, after more than two years of the presence of drilling companies with their heavy trucks and huge drill rigs, they and many of their neighbors wish they had never signed a lease. “They say one thing to you when they want you to sign, and quite another thing when you’ve signed your land over to them and they begin to do what they want to it,” Mitchell said. Mitchell said the gas company, Range Resources, a subsidiary of Halliburton, told her they would drill only one well. Then, when gas was discovered in a nearby well, they came in and drilled four over her and her husband’s objections. “Our lawyer said to go along with them since they have so many lawyers on their side that we could never win,” she said. The Mitchells receive about $900 a year for all four wells, not $900 apiece, she said. “They’re very secretive about everything, are arrogant and tell you nothing,” she said. Last January, they told her that they struck gas on her property. “That was nearly four months ago and we’ve received nothing,” she said. Her contract is for 14 percent. She doesn’t know whether it’s from the total gas amount or from the net profit. “We’re at their mercy and have to trust them.” Gulla, has had his 141-acre farm destroyed by the drilling, he said. His water well gets muddy whenever it rains, which never occurred before the drilling. The water in his pond is brackish and he has had a fish kill. “People are getting methane in their well like I am,” he said. “It’s happening all around me.” Down the road from him, Emil Alexander, a retired farmer, has had some bad experiences as well. “Gas started welling up in the middle of my fields,” he said. “I could only see it when it rained and you could see it bubbling up.” Alexander complained to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and they came out but didn’t do a whole lot, he said. “There was so much gas around that they put monitors up in my house and told me that I might have to move out until the problem was resolved,” he said. “I really don’t want to move.” The cause of the escaping gas was unknown to the DEP. “They said it might be from another old well that was drilled years ago,” he said. “When they drill a well, they put a whole lot of pressure down the well and I guess the gas gets loose and comes to the surface. Something comes to the surface; whether it’s natural gas or methane makes no difference to me. I just want my air and water to be clear.” Another neighbor, who withheld his name because he was afraid of reprisals, said his well water started to show a dark color. When he complained to the DEP, they only tested for ordinary things like pH, sodium and hard water. “They didn’t test for chemicals and other things that might be in the well drilling fluids,” he said. “When I complained to the company about the color in the water and said that it was caused by a drilling well on another property near to mine, they said, ‘Prove it.’” Before drilling is begun, a landowner should have the water tested for baseline items, he said. “The only problem is that such tests can be very costly.” Gulla, Alexander and Mitchell said that the drilling companies are ruining their once bucolic countryside. “The worst part of it is that the damage they are doing can never be reversed,” Gulla said. “It is forever.”
Contributed photo: Stone dust gushes into the air on a horse farm in Hickory, PA from a gas drilling rig. The dust, which was released for several hours on April 6, filled the valley across many acres and was breathed in by family members and by the owner’s horses. It ceased when the owner went to the site complaining and taking pictures.

* "Iraq Has Really Become Somalia...A Collection of Different Militias" --
Back from Baghdad, Journalist Nir Rosen Paints a Picture of a Broken Iraq *
Independent journalist Nir Rosen joins us in our firehouse studio soon after
returning from three months in Iraq, his latest visit since moving to
Baghdad to cover the US invasion in 2003. ³It¹s been propagated by the right
and accepted by the left in the US that the surge, which is really an
escalation of troops [S] by 30,000 soldiers, somehow brought peace to Iraq,²
Rosen says. ³This is just an absolute lie. Violence has subsided somewhat in
Baghdad, that¹s true, but it¹s not the result of the increase in American
troops directly. It¹s the result of a few other factors.²

of Pharmaceuticals in US Water Supply *
Anti-epileptics were found in the drinking water of Southern California; a
sex hormone was found in San Francisco¹s water; three medications and an
antibiotic were found in the water supply of Tuscon, Arizona; and a mood
stabilizer was found in the water of New Jersey. And that¹s just to name a
few. An exhaustive five-month investigation by Associated Press has found
the drinking water in at least twenty-four major American cities across the
country contains trace amounts of a wide array of pharmaceuticals. We speak
with Associated Press national writer, Jeff Donn.

TODAY'S DEMOCRACY NOW!:
* Fed Bailout of Bear Stearns First of its Kind Since Great Depression *
The nation¹s fifth largest investment bank Bear Stearns nearly collapsed
last week. It was saved only after the Federal Reserve took extraordinary
measures to help JPMorgan purchase the eighty-five-year-old firm. The Fed
has become the lender of last resort for other investment banks in a move
that marks one of the broadest expansions of the Fed¹s lending authority
since the 1930s. We speak with Nomi Prins, an author and former investment
banker at Bear Stearns, and Max Fraad Wolff, an economist and writer.

China has acknowledged for the first time that anti-government protests in
Tibet over the past few days have spread to other provinces. The protests
erupted last week when Buddhist monks took to the streets of Lhasa to mark
the anniversary of the 1959 uprising against Chinese rule. Human rights
groups say dozens of people have been killed and hundreds arrested. We speak
with Lhakpa Kyizom, a Tibetan activist in Dharamsala, India, and Robert

TODAY'S DEMOCRACY NOW!:
* Half a Decade of War: Five Years After Iraq Invasion, Soldiers Testify at
Winter Soldier Hearings *
Five years ago tonight, on March 19, 2003, the US launched the invasion of
Iraq. Half a decade later, as the occupation continues with no end in sight,
some of the most powerful voices against the war have been the men and women
who have fought in it. For four days this past weekend, soldiers convened at
the National Labor College in Silver Spring, Maryland for Winter Soldier, an
eyewitness account of the war and occupations in Iraq and Afghanistan. We
broadcast their voices.

As we mark the five-year anniversary of the invasion of Iraq this week, we

Maryland for Winter Soldier, an eyewitness indictment of atrocities
committed by US troops during the ongoing occupations in Iraq and
