President Obama 1, Big Auto Companies (score yet to be determined...)
As of this morning, 3/30/2009, FORMER General Motors CEO Rick Wagoner has resigned his position effective immediately, upon the direct request of President Obama's Administration.  GM and Wagoner specifically were warned that they would not receive one more cent of American bailout money until Wagoner leaves and the entire GM company restructures to prove itself viable.
The voice of Sir Winston Churchill echoes, "Leave it to the Americans to do the right thing, only AFTER they have done everything else."
Frankly, GM should have been allowed, nay, FORCED, to collapse.  Despite the numbers of people who own GM cars of every stripe, this author included, GM should have been bailed out of Congressional halls at rifle point with a boot kick to the gluteus.  Taxpayers could have been enabled to purchase more American made cars of every brand, be it Honda or Buick, Toyota or Pontiac, Hyundai, Subaru, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, or Daihatsu, or any other brand made HERE in the USA, had the bailout never, ever been given and had the car industry been compelled to produce biofuel, electric, and hybrid powered vehicles.
Because GM FAILED to listen to the average American consumer, and instead foisted upon us the enormous gas-guzzling clunkers and lemons and bricks we are forced to drive, and because GM FAILED to advance electric powered cars whose technology existed since 1928, GM is FAILING as a business.  It must fail.
Now, we have new auto companies such as Tesla Motors occupying the "green vehicle" market without bailout dollar #1.  Sure, their cars cost $50,000 on the showroom floor, but that $50,000 will be more than saved in car repairs with fewer moving parts to fail, and certainly in gas expenditures with an owner's ability to plug the car into the wall outlet when the car is not in use, and breeze right past that polluting smelly pump.  Why not bail out the auto industry by giving Americans an average of $20,000 a piece to put down toward a purchase of a Tesla motor car, a Chevy Volt, or a Toyota Electric or Hybrid car, and in doing so, toss out the old exhaust choking banger?  Why not increase the tax incentive and rebate challenges or amounts given to consumers to buy these vehicles as well as car makers to produce them?
The reason the US Government does not do this is because it wants to promote "business" at exorbitant costs to the consumers in a vain effort to "stimulate" the economy.  All that does is just spread the bread around and spread the butter on top of it, but it ends up getting everyone in a "jam" for spending all that nonexistent money.
We consumers are doing the only thing we have left to do to cause the best shift in the economy we could ever have.  We have stopped spending good money after bad money after good money buying cheap garbage made in Pyookistan by child laborers, lubricating and fueling that with petroleum seized in some bloody world war from a sovereign nation that was formerly our ally, and force feeding that to the jobless public as funnelled through K-Stein-WalMart and the Big Box Company.  We have stopped spending money, period, and that is the best thing we can do for our economy right now.  Pumping more money into ANYTHING involving American business is like trying to stop bleeding out of a severed artery by pumping more blood into the victim.
Congress and the Presidents Bush and Obama should have realized this the very second the big auto makers walked in their doors.  Giving money to the big auto companies as part of the government bailout is just like giving Ballantine's Scotch and the keys to the Aston-Martin or Lamborghini or Ferrari to a zit-faced teenage boy.  What the Government and the taxpayers they represent should have given the automakers is what Rick Wagoner finally got -- the PINK SLIP.  Better yet, they should have received absolutely nothing other than a trespass order or a restraining order from a court of law.

Washington Bailout, or Bail Out Washington?

By Richard C. August

Once again, we, the taxpaying citizens of the United States of America, have experienced a literal business buyout by the Federal Government on a scale never even imagined by even the greatest financial wizards.  The “bailout” amounts to little more than the Government acting as a Mardi Gras Krewe tossing beaded necklaces from parade floats to whatever businesses flash their sex organs the most and the fastest.  The beaded necklaces at Mardi Gras have little financial value, and certainly no more sentimental value other than giving the bearer the right to say, “Yeah, I was there at Mardi Gras, I got drunk off my (insert anatomical epithet here), I flashed, and I got these beads.  Yeah, it was totally awesome!!”

The major difference between the Government bailouts and Mardi Gras is that instead of tossing colored plastic beads to inebriated congregants hell-bent on parading asinine behavior, the Government tosses out real, hard-earned taxpayer dollars to corporations and banks whose CEOs no more deserve these dollars than they deserve a Monopoly “Get Out of Jail Free” card.  The CEOs of these corporations have sold us poor quality goods, then sold us a bill of goods about them, then scratched their heads, then turned around and cried like babies to their bed-buddies in the halls of power.  Instead of doing as many parents would have done, and letting the babies cry themselves to sleep, the Government shoved billions of OUR dollars into these CEOs’ jaws just to pacify them.

Did the CEOs ever convert ONE of these dollars to reinvest in their companies, improve employee benefits, or even keep a manufacturing or processing plant, let alone one store, open to keep people working?  NO.  Instead, these CEOs took the money and literally ran, padding their purses – no, their Swiss bank accounts – all along the way.  Congress should have allowed this billion or trillion dollar boondoggle to TANK.  Congress should have told these businesses that if they TANK, then they have THEMSELVES to thank.  Manufacturing and processing plants, along with the stores that formerly sold these items, are closing at alarming rates, leaving millions of U. S. Citizens totally jobless.  Concerning their pension funds, hey, if it isn’t “portable,” then what the **** is a “pension?”  Borrowing somewhat from Ambrose Bierce, the daffy-nishun of a “pension” is:

PENSION:  n. (pen’-shun) 1.  What was formerly known as one’s retirement savings in Toto, yet now is known as a paper placemat at a dinner table.  2.  Something to sustain elderly citizens by further delimiting their income and means, as all the while their expenses rocket skyward.  3.  The lone remaining asset that the Government wouldn’t bail out in an eon because the lone fund created to support these is also bankrupt and the persons left penniless do not politically compute.

For that matter, why should the Mardi Gras Krewe known as the Congress have ever even considered the matter of handing these happy drunks one more penny to use to do their drinking?  Why not instead use that money toward programs geared toward welfare-to-work programs, encouraging small businesses to remain operative or training workers in labor skills while simultaneously saving the environment?  Congresses unfortunately do not operate in that atmosphere; after all, trees may hand out green leaves, but they do not hand out green dollars.

What was even worse about these TWO Government “bailouts” was the fact that these were passed totally along party lines.  When the Republican “repo men” set up their dog-and-pony show complete with a flea circus and a freak show on the side in October, starring their cronies in the banks and the automobile sector, the Democrats operating in campaign mode first gushed that they would love to operate in bipartisan harmony, then voted against Bush’s bed-buddy bailout while turning around to their constituents, claiming that the Repo-man bailout didn’t make sense and would cost the taxpayers billions of dollars in interest payments alone.

Now, we have the Democratic Donkey dressed as a lion, braying its best attempt at a roar, showing their version of the boogie-woogie bugle bop.  The new King Karnival, President Obama, paid a cordial visit to Congressional leaders (read: loiterers) on both sides of the non-existent “aisle,” whose space is now occupied by Chinese-made folding chairs in a desperate effort to make the Carnival Congress appear bipartisan when in fact it is uni-partisan.  From the Donkeys, the President got a rock-solid electorate, but from the Repo men, all he got was smiles and cordial remarks, rather resembling a crocodilian form of politeness as the lot gorge on the carcass called the American taxpayers.  Once again, the same set of anatomy flashers showed up at the Carnival, and then as now, the majority party passed the bailout billions solely along party lines, with the exception of some 33 “moderate” Donkeys.  Ultimately, these Congress people will go right back to the American voters and tell us once again that they voted with their hearts and not with their heads, and we will be forced to swallow that lie once more, courtesy of the state-run media.

The direct result of these trillion-dollar thrills five or fifty or even one hundred years from now will be the same as it is five minutes from now, unless we the voters take action.  The direct results will be:

·        Extreme worldwide depression caused by CEO greed and Congressional compliance,
·        Closure of noncompetitive companies who refuse to cater to the public
·        Job loss of epic proportions
·        Total devaluation of hyper-inflated dollars
·        A global economic crash followed by the introduction of a new, paperless currency based on electronic data, and
·        The rise of world leaders, or even ONE world leader, who will make Adolf Hitler look like Whoopi Goldberg, since in extreme economic depression, people will elect whatever lying BLEEP promises them bread and meat.

What, then, is the solution?

Obviously, more bailouts of the Krewe of Congress kind would only leave us not only mortgaging our descendants’ futures on a predatory lending scheme that they will never be enabled to pay, much less be able to pay it.

The remaining bailout solution, then, is to take the Ark called Washington, DC and DRYDOCK IT.  Much as a boat occupant would have to bail out water from the boat’s bottom to keep it from sinking, and then take the boat to dry-dock for a complete overhaul to make it water-worthy again, first by removing everything from the boat to fix the leaks and paint it, so we must take Washington to dry-dock by removing the Democrats and the Republicans as a whole from the halls of power.  We may even go so far as to forcibly disband the Democrats and Republicans and make their parties totally illegal.  We may even go so far as to mandate that no less than 5 major political parties exist on any one ballot.  The fact is that complete removal of anything that looks or smells like a Democrat or a Republican is the only solution to our Government and economic problems.  As long as either of these Bacchanalian orgies FORMERLY known as “parties” remains anywhere near the corridors of Congress, we, the American taxpayers, LOSE OUR SHIRTS AND OUR SKINS, TOO.

How long must we tolerate the same old rehashed lies spat up by the same old political retreads over their paid airwaves bought and paid for by their political cronies, only to lose our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor, as well as ourselves and our children, when the proverbial chickens come home to roost?  How long will it be before we take action and totally elect third party candidates with equal if not better qualifications to hold public office than the current occupants of both legislative chambers?  HOW LONG WILL IT BE BEFORE WE ENGAGE IN OPEN REVOLT AGAINST THE REVOLTING LIES OFFICIAL WASHINGTON KEEP REPEATING TO US IN CATCH PHRASES, AND PEACEABLY UNELECT THESE OFFICIALS OR, WORSE YET, SEND THEM HOME TO GOD?

Gay marriage vs. Reproduction
by Richard C. August
In light of the recent issues concerning the States of California and Massachusetts legally recognizing homosexual marriage, here's a good idea.
How about we give homosexuals their own State in the USA, and allow them to marry, provided they do not repopulate the State by recruitment, or artificial insemination, or adoption of children? They must repopulate their own State only by means of sex with their same gender spouses. Let's see how long it takes before the gays finally realize that it still takes one man's sperm to fertilize one woman's egg to produce at least one child. I'd give the better part of two generations before most of the gays there would die with no replacements, and the remaining rest of them would realize that straight sex leads to reproduction, period, even if the act is "begrudging." At least that would mean that moral, upstanding, concerned persons would not have to exact revenge with Bibles, bombs, bricks, or bullets. The gays and lesbians would do that to themselves, with the exceptions of those who straighten up and fly right.
But why would any self-respecting gay man want to put his precious manly fluids into some woman, anyway? And why would some self-respecting lesbian want some funky man-goo in her pristine pubic region?
In that case, why would God Almighty, our loving and holy CREATOR, call on us to BE FRUITFUL AND MULTIPLY, and then turn around and arbitrarily manufacture gays and lesbians as a means of population control, especially when HE told us to fill the Earth and subdue it in the Book of Genesis??
Dear readers, homosexuality, transgenderedness, transsexuality, and bisexuality are all L-I-E-S. They are LIES!! Leviticus chapter 18, in the Holy Bible, calls homosexuality -- lying with man as with woman -- an ABOMINATION. The same Bible reflects in Romans chapter 1 that homosexuality of both genders is a selfish, self-serving denial of God and His Word, and that those who practice it not only know that they are committing sins worthy of death, but they also receive that same punishment in their own bodies, not only in the forms of AIDS and other STDs/STIs, but with failure to reproduce a newer generation of persons.
Homosexuality, bisexuality, transgenderedness, transsexuality, bestiality, BLEEPography, adultery, fornication, bigamy, and polygamy ALL STEM FROM THE SAME SATANIC SOURCE AND ALL END UP WITH THE SAME SATANIC RESULTS. The wages of sin is death, but the GIFT (unwarranted, undeserved present given out of unconditional love) of God is ETERNAL LIFE.
"Wait a second, August," you might say. "Aren't you starting to sound like that 'God hates fags' crowd?" First of all, the Westboro Baptist Church are totally unrepresentative of the Christian faith. If God hates fags, then He would hate straights too, for all have sinned and come far short of God's glory. We're all in that same boat. Their "pastor" isn't even properly ordained, but was a seminary dropout. All they are is a hate group who spew their hatred and anger in the Name of God against everybody but the Westboro Baptist Church. They offer absolutely NO redemption, NO healing, NO help out of sexual sin, period.
Jesus Christ is the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE, and no person at all can come to God the Father except through HIM. St. John 14:6. HE makes absolutely no bones about His Person and Station in the Universe. He is the Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace, the Rose of Sharon, the Redeemer of humankind on the CROSS. His perfect atonement for our sins provides the sole means of spiritual and physical and mental and emotional healing we all need. Sure, we have to work through it, and we go under the Cross because of it, but when Christ Jesus heals us, it's from the inside out, and it's for real, and it's permanent for eternity. He will cast our sins as far away as the east is from the west. There won't even be a scrap of carbon paper or a bit of data on that hard drive called your life once Christ removes it.
Dear readers, any kind of sexual sin is a choice you make. You make your bed, and you have to lie in it. If that bed is pure and clean, and only involved in marital relationships between ONE man and ONE woman, it's clean. Involve anybody else in any other manner, and it's your mess. Sometimes, those messes don't get cleaned up so easily. The diseases contracted thereby alone are mostly incurable, but are made more tolerant through medications taken for the rest of one's life.
I am proud to say that though I have been divorced since 1997, I was married to only ONE woman and have not had extramarital pubic-to-pubic sex with another person. Yes, I have played around, and fondled, and been fondled, but thank God, JESUS CHRIST has released me from that. I am also a recovering BLEEPography addict, but again, that is an addict in recovery. Face it, BLEEPography is a huge lie, too. Christ Jesus relieves addictions, and makes them so that they hold no more pleasure for us, but only pain and suffering compared to His grace.
Anyone, man or woman, who commits sexual sin sins against his or her own body, PERIOD. The sexually transmitted diseases so rampant today should be enough to scare anyone back to morality and monogamous marital sex, but unfortunately, so many persons worship themselves and their sex organs as their gods that they are too far given to sexual pleasure and are too far gone. Until they hit solid steel rock bottom, they will not recover. Christ offers them the means of recovery while they are yet alive, but once they are dead, it's over.
The road to Hell for eternity is paved with pleasure and an easy life. The road to Heaven is strait, and narrow, twisty and rocky, hilly and arduous, and few there are who find it, but those who find it through JESUS CHRIST reap rich rewards in Heaven and sometimes on Earth as a result. Living a life of real faith in Jesus Christ totally flies in the face of living the way of the world, but as you walk OUT of the world, you really begin to see the fallen nature of humankind, as one walks in the Baptised nature of the Christian believer.
It is my hope that as you read this, if you are a homosexual, or are practicing any kind of sexual sin, that is, outside of the marital bed between ONE man and ONE woman, that you come to know Jesus Christ as God, Lord, Savior, and Redeemer before you die. If you are not following this kind of sin, then please do not go the way of the Westboro Baptist Church and scream and yell and rant your hatred, because we are sinners, too, though in Jesus Christ we are redeemed by grace through faith.
Meanwhile, let those who are openly gay and lesbian practice whatever they will, and let other sexual sinners debauch themselves, for until they come to Jesus Christ and HE washes their sins away, they will destroy themselves; we do not need bullets or bricks or bombs or poison or other lethal means to do that.
Find a good Christian church whose pastor and leaders and laity believe, teach, and confess that the Holy Bible is the authoritative Word of God, Holy and without error at least in its original manuscripts. Find a good translation of the Holy Bible for you and read it every day. Learn from it. Pray and believe.

LOVE in Jesus Christ,

VOLUME XXXIV No. 15 Narrowsburg, NY April 10 - April 16, 2008   THE RIVER REPORTER Western PA landowners regret deep gas wells deals Gasses bubbling out of the ground and into drinking wells and ponds By TOM KANE WASHINGTON COUNTY, PA - At first, farmer Ron Gulla and horse farm owner Joyce Mitchell were excited about the prospect of making money from gas drilling. Now, after more than two years of the presence of drilling companies with their heavy trucks and huge drill rigs, they and many of their neighbors wish they had never signed a lease. “They say one thing to you when they want you to sign, and quite another thing when you’ve signed your land over to them and they begin to do what they want to it,” Mitchell said. Mitchell said the gas company, Range Resources, a subsidiary of Halliburton, told her they would drill only one well. Then, when gas was discovered in a nearby well, they came in and drilled four over her and her husband’s objections. “Our lawyer said to go along with them since they have so many lawyers on their side that we could never win,” she said. The Mitchells receive about $900 a year for all four wells, not $900 apiece, she said. “They’re very secretive about everything, are arrogant and tell you nothing,” she said. Last January, they told her that they struck gas on her property. “That was nearly four months ago and we’ve received nothing,” she said. Her contract is for 14 percent. She doesn’t know whether it’s from the total gas amount or from the net profit. “We’re at their mercy and have to trust them.” Gulla, has had his 141-acre farm destroyed by the drilling, he said. His water well gets muddy whenever it rains, which never occurred before the drilling. The water in his pond is brackish and he has had a fish kill. “People are getting methane in their well like I am,” he said. “It’s happening all around me.” Down the road from him, Emil Alexander, a retired farmer, has had some bad experiences as well. “Gas started welling up in the middle of my fields,” he said. “I could only see it when it rained and you could see it bubbling up.” Alexander complained to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and they came out but didn’t do a whole lot, he said. “There was so much gas around that they put monitors up in my house and told me that I might have to move out until the problem was resolved,” he said. “I really don’t want to move.” The cause of the escaping gas was unknown to the DEP. “They said it might be from another old well that was drilled years ago,” he said. “When they drill a well, they put a whole lot of pressure down the well and I guess the gas gets loose and comes to the surface. Something comes to the surface; whether it’s natural gas or methane makes no difference to me. I just want my air and water to be clear.” Another neighbor, who withheld his name because he was afraid of reprisals, said his well water started to show a dark color. When he complained to the DEP, they only tested for ordinary things like pH, sodium and hard water. “They didn’t test for chemicals and other things that might be in the well drilling fluids,” he said. “When I complained to the company about the color in the water and said that it was caused by a drilling well on another property near to mine, they said, ‘Prove it.’” Before drilling is begun, a landowner should have the water tested for baseline items, he said. “The only problem is that such tests can be very costly.” Gulla, Alexander and Mitchell said that the drilling companies are ruining their once bucolic countryside. “The worst part of it is that the damage they are doing can never be reversed,” Gulla said. “It is forever.” Contributed photo: Stone dust gushes into the air on a horse farm in Hickory, PA from a gas drilling rig. The dust, which was released for several hours on April 6, filled the valley across many acres and was breathed in by family members and by the owner’s horses. It ceased when the owner went to the site complaining and taking pictures.

TODAY'S DEMOCRACY NOW!:

* Half a Decade of War: Five Years After Iraq Invasion, Soldiers Testify at
Winter Soldier Hearings *

Five years ago tonight, on March 19, 2003, the US launched the invasion of
Iraq. Half a decade later, as the occupation continues with no end in sight,
some of the most powerful voices against the war have been the men and women
who have fought in it. For four days this past weekend, soldiers convened at
the National Labor College in Silver Spring, Maryland for Winter Soldier, an
eyewitness account of the war and occupations in Iraq and Afghanistan. We
broadcast their voices.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Pennsylvania's Wayne Countians have recently been approached by representatives of major petroleum and heating fuels companies for purposes of leasing their land to drill for oil and natural gas.  The General Mining Act of 1872, an Act that is still in force, allowed mining on PUBLIC LANDS for any minerals whose lode was over an estimated value of $50, and was amended by The Mineral Leasing Act of 1920.  The latter Act permits mining companies, including those that mine for heating fuels and petrochemicals, to lease public land for drilling over 10-year lease terms.
Under the Mineral Leasing Act of 1920, companies may secure the rights to drill for Federally-owned petroleum deposits, drawn from Federal land, over ten-year periods, under competitive bidding, with the highest bidder awarded the contract.  The bid or contract is then paid by bonus (an initial outright over-the-table payment), rental of $1 an acre for Federal lands use, and royalties of 12.5% of the total value of the heating fuels drawn.
No such law on the Federal books exists for mining or drilling on privately owned lands, which basically enables the "big oil" companies to either work with their cohorts in the Federal and State Governments to claim eminent domain over those private lands, forcibly evicting individuals and families off the lands, or to lease the private lands from the landowners on "sweetheart deals" that make the lessors feel like the Beverly Hillbillies when, in fact, they are just poor people with more money.
Aside from abandoned properties in Wayne County, privately owned lands are owned by primary owner-occupants, many of whose families have owned and farmed and fought for this land for decades.  Granted, the economy in Wayne County is sorely lacking, and economic development needs considerable priming here, but farmers and landowners in Wayne County would be extremely foolish to take the oil and gas companies' offers at all.  Instead, landowners should send them away by force.
Consider the past 30 years of petrochemical companies' history at the gas pump and the gas pipe.  In the 1970s, gasoline dealers opted to reduce prices by introducing self-service stations manned by one semi-skilled laborer per workday or work shift.  Their talking point was that since they did not have to hire mechanics, gas prices would remain at about $0.30 to $0.35 per gallon.  Gas prices went up.  To compensate for further retail losses, gas stations started to offer convenience stores at their self-service stations.  Because of risen rates of robberies and burglaries, and risen costs of labor, gas prices went up even further, to about $0.50 to $0.55 per gallon of unleaded gasoline, thanks to gas-sipping cars with catalytic converters.
Through the 1980s, convenience stores at self-service gas pumps continued to thrive, as they do to this day, and thanks to big oil, prices still went up.  In 1976 and through the 1980s, petroleum and fuel companies advertised that we would reduce our dependence on foreign oil by domestic drilling; thus, they introduced the Alaskan Oil Pipeline, which worked well until the late 1990s, when the rusty old pipeline failed to deliver.  Alaskan oil was then forcibly transported by oil tanker because the pipeline was shut down at times due to lack of repair.  The result was the Exxon Valdez incident, spilling millions of gallons of crude oil all over Prince William Sound -- that was only to be topped off in 2007 by the puncture of the single-walled CHINESE oil tanker in San Francisco Bay.  The Alaska Oil Pipeline has been restored to functionality only after public pressure.  Still, oil and gas prices went UP to $1.50 to $1.75 per gallon by 2000, and we are still either the #1 or #2 oil importer on Earth, running a dead-heat with China.
Of course, throughout all this marasse, oil heating prices went UP as well, since heating fuel is also a petroleum product.  Natural gas prices also increased to the point where the average to low-income family cannot afford to pay for home heating without LIHEAP, or programs like those offered by Venezuelan-owned CITGO, who offer oil at discounts for low-income heating oil customers.
Seeing the need to become ecologically friendly while using renewable resources such as solar heating and windmills, the solar energy industry practically came into existence in the mid-1970s because OPEC and "big oil" companies created an energy crisis by lowering crude oil production.  Yet, thanks in part to huge economic influences in the US Congress by the Oil lobbyists, solar energy panels are now found mostly on hand-held calculators, with windmills, hydropower systems, and geothermal heating systems only now starting to rise when their technologies are already over 50 years old.
Fast forward to the 1990s.  Prices steadily rose under the Bush 41 and Clinton Administrations, with occasional attacks on Middle Eastern countries helping to muck us up in a quagmire in which we are still engaged.  I know -- I was there, in Saudi Arabia, in 1990 and 1991 during Operation Desert Shield/Storm.  Through the 1990s, thanks in part to those wars for Halliburton, ExxonMobil, and the then-divided ChevronTexaco, oil prices continued a steady rise.
After the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, attacks for which we paid in terms far greater than the loss of 7,000 lives, whose terrorists we paid through the CIA to attack anything that moves, Bush 43 and his allies ex-Halliburtonite Deadeye Dick Cheney and oil-tanker namesake Condoleezza Rice seized the opportunity to finish US Government military takeover of Iraqi oil fields, which still sit dry today because no one ever repaired the wells or pipelines or oil refineries.  We still spend millions of dollars per week in Iraq, including the total loss of $9 BILLION of printed money from the US Federal Reserve Bank of New York, of which not one scrap of paper can be found.  Bush 43, Rice, Cheney, and their parrot Don Rumsfeld, all chirped and chattered their patter phrases concerning how once our business is done in Iraq, perhaps after a year or two, oil and gas prices would DROP dramatically.  We have been butchered and bludgeoned in Iraq and Afghanistan for 7 years, and Usama bin Laden still has not been killed as yet; business is not done and will not be done there for decades, and guess what?  Oil prices DOUBLED and TRIPLED in the past 5 years!!
Now, we look at the flip side of the petrochemical industries.  These are the consumer services sides of petrochemicals.  These are the plastic T-shirt bags, the pesticides, the herbicides, and the fertilizers used on many farms today.  Not only did their costs rise dramatically, but they also polluted the land and water, and poisoned us and our children with dioxins and other harmful or fatal chemicals ingested by what we eat, and then ingested by humans IN what we eat.  The results are more frequent hospitalizations because of foods that do not digest or break down because they are killed by pesticides and preservatives.  The results are higher rates of chemical sensitivities and neurofibromitosis symptoms, as well as rashes, allergic reactions, fatigue, and even mortality rates, created by petrochemicals, which is why millions of people are opting (if not forced) to spend more money on USDA/Oregon Tilth certified ORGANIC foods.  Think of Morgan Spurlock's documentary "Supersize Me," and you will see what I mean.  McDonalds' Freedom Fries do not ensure our freedom from colorectal cancer, cholesterol, or saturated fats, translating to higher health care costs, thanks to petrochemical pesticides and fertilizers.
Oh, and next time you take a drive down a highway, look at the litter on the roadsides.  Chances are that much of that litter will be plastic T-shirt or grocery bags, bought and paid for by you, and totally unbiodegradeable, provided by petrochemical companies' plastic products which, even though they may be recycled, still take more petroleum to process and make.  Not only do petrochemicals poison people and our budgets; they also murder the earth through pollution.
Lastly lie the lying liars' petrochemical dollars.  ExxonMobil recently boasted a record last-quarter earning of over 10 BILLION DOLLARS, thanks to prices at the pump, yet still, one measly $100 might buy a full barrel of crude oil if you went and bought it yourself.  For most people in Wayne County, working on minimum wage of $7.15 per hour, gross pay, that is 35% of a full-time paycheck.  To spend 1/3 of your paycheck just to buy a barrel of crude oil on the futures market would be a waste, indeed.
With all the oil in reserve now, even if the Federal Government were to release massive quantities of Government reserve petroleum a third time under Bush 43, you might think that after a $10 Billion profit for ONE oil company in the last fiscal quarter, SOMEONE just MIGHT consider lowering prices at the pump, right?  Do not bet the ranch on that!!
Betting the ranch, and every stick of wood on it, and the house, and every blade of grass, and every animal and farm implement thereon, and every seed of feed thereon, is exactly what Wayne Countians are doing if they even consider dealing with petrochemical companies to lease their lands at all.  First of all, the "big oil" and fuel companies are going to offer these landowners what seems to be a great deal when it turns out to be a bum rap.  "Big oil" will offer these landowners thousands of dollars to lease their lands for a 2 to 4 year period, and these landowners will bite that lure because many of them are so poor that they have difficulty making ends meet, so any money is attractive to them.  Once the lease documents are signed, the petrochemical companies start moving in and drilling with their equipment, improving the land and, possibly, property values, to such a point as to make property taxes unaffordable for most of these people.  That will be the first ouster of people who have lived on these lands for decades.
Second, the CEOS and CFOs of these "big oil" companies will look at their spreadsheets and their balance sheets, and will determine that outright purchase of the leased land from these private landowners will be less costly than continuing the leases.  Then, "big oil" will send representatives and corporate lawyers to these landowners to offer land purchase on a "sweetheart" deal -- take it or leave it, but if you leave it, bear in mind that your developed land will cost you so much in property taxes that you will be forced to sell in spite of all the money big oil gives them.  Because the land was originally not worth as much West of the Delaware River as it is East of that River, the "big oil" companies and their attorneys will knowingly offer the landowners what seems to them to be huge money, but is really chump change to "big oil."  That will be the second ouster of good, hardworking, hard-scrapple landowners who shot for food, and up from the ground came a-bubblin' crude, but that money offered and paid by "big oil" will not even pay for a house trailer and a pickup truck, much less a Beverly Hills mansion, when the big oil companies send out their dudes.
Third, when all else is lost, "big oil" will use their government puppets to claim eminent domain over properties leased from landowners who refuse to sell, and fight the lessees for more rent and royalties, through the General Mining Act and the Mineral Leasing Acts mentioned above.  Once the government seizes the lands under eminent domain, particularly after abandonment or foreclosure, all the oil companies need to do is bid the highest amount, pay $1 an acre for rent, and give the Government 12.5% of the total take on the oil and gas mined on the land.  Cost to the taxpayers is sweat, blood, livelihoods, houses, lands, and life savings.  Cost to the petrochemical companies is so nominal as to be considered "free."  Cost to people at the pump is skyrocketing fuel prices despite being mined and drawn and refined on US soil.
Fourth, and last of all, is the total loss of reclaimable land.  Once oil companies start digging, the petroleum pollutants will ruin every stick of wood and every blade of grass and every leaf on every tree to the point of annihilation.  Remaining arable lands will be "brownfields" that cannot even yield good enough drainage for further commercial development.
Given all these lies told to us by petro-dollar puppets over the past 30 years, we in Wayne County, PA can afford to excercise only one option, with the exception of properties already long abandoned.  We can give men like Harry Whittington, the Texas attorney "accidentally" shot in the face and through the heart in 2006 by "Deadeye Dick" some justice, and show petrochemical representatives the 12-gauge "welcoming committee."  We can do as REPUBLICAN President Theodore Roosevelt did in December 1911 through January 1912, and give the oil companies the "Abyssinian treatment."  In short, we can FORCIBLY REMOVE THEM FROM WAYNE COUNTY, PA, BEFORE THEY FORCIBLY REMOVE US AND TURN OUR COUNTY INTO A PETROCHEMICAL WASTE DUMP.  We can do so with legal action, and we can do so with loaded firearms, but remove them we must, to ensure that they NEVER approach us again, even if it means that their representatives are buried here as residents are incarcerated for defending our property by deadly force.
Next, we must do everything we can to boycott petrochemicals and gasoline products, by first only purchasing gas and oil when our tanks are almost empty and we absolutely need it.  Then, we can buy reuseable bags at the grocery store, and bring them with us every time we shop.  Next, we can change our heating systems to electric heat from renewable sources such as wind and solar power if that is available.  Next, we can improve our health through dieting on organic foods and proper exercise, eliminating use of our cars and trucks when we do not absolutely need them, and when we do use them, to go several places and do several things in one area when we are there as opposed to making several trips.  Anything we can do to cut petrochemical usage in our lives is a plus, as it improves our health and cuts into the coffers of the lying petro-dollar bastards who continually sell us a bill of goods and make us pay them for that privilege.  If we can do so, we should work from our homes to save on gas and save wear and tear on our cars, or at least work within walking distance of our homes.  We should not even use gas or kerosene powered snow blowers unless we must.  Anything we can do to reduce petrochemical usage, even if it is not wasteful, not only can be done, it MUST be done, if not because of "global warming," then certainly because the petroleum companies have constantly and consistently lied to us, the customers, as they have dangled us from their nooses and made us believe that our lives depend on their services, which is NOT TRUE.  To even DEAL with gasoline companies is to dance with the devil instead of killing the devil, and kill the devil we must.
Wayne County property owners would be extremely foolish to even invite petrochemical company representatives into their air space, for to do so is to invite disaster on Wayne County.  Our homes, our lands, our food, and our livelihoods depend on clean and green energy coming from honest entities and not moneyed, well-heeled big wheels with no interests in anything other than black gold and green ink.  Yes, we need a better economy, but not at the cost of our livelihoods, and certainly not from companies whose political puppets have sent our children overseas to be killed over some Middle Eastern oil slick in the name of "fighting terrorism."  It's definitely time for Wayne Countians to do Harry Whittington and the thousands of soldiers who died in the Middle East some justice, and bring the lying big oil creeps and their government monkeys to justice, too.  Wayne Countians must not only refuse EVERY offer made to them by petroleum representatives.  We must also refuse to allow those lying murderers anywhere near us.
Thank you for your time and consideration.  Whether or not you sell or lease your lands to "big oil" is up to you.  Please remember, if you are into "big oil" for a penny, you are into "big oil" for your very soul, and these lying petrochemical murderers will not only take your soul, but charge YOU usury for the taking.  Thanks again, as you carefully consider your remaining option to save your lives!
